On Monday, 15 September 2025, more than one hundred students who arrived in Zlín within the Erasmus+ programme gathered at 12:00 in the auditorium of the Tomas Bata University in Zlín. The Welcome Meeting was organised by the International Office, with the main goal of helping newcomers take their first steps at the university and in the city.

Students learned how studies at UTB work, where to find useful contacts, and what formalities they need to complete, from confirmation of study and the ISIC card application to arranging student public transport passes. The university’s facilities and services were also introduced, including the library, canteens, dormitories, sports activities, as well as the Counselling Centre and Job Centre.

The programme further included an introduction to the city of Zlín and its opportunities. Students received recommendations on where to connect with the international community, what cultural events not to miss, and where to find practical support such as health insurance.

The meeting gave students a clear overview of studying and living in Zlín. Along with useful advice, they also formed their first impressions of the university. They gained a chance to get to know others with whom they would share not only lectures but also experiences outside the classroom throughout the semester.
