The 12th International Week took place at UTB from 7 to 11 April 2025, bringing academics and staff from Erasmus+ partner universities from all over Europe to Zlín. The event was attended by representatives of universities from almost 10 countries, including Spain, Estonia, Germany and Finland. International Week is organised by the International Department of UTB and aims to promote international cooperation in the field of education, share good practice and support existing contacts.
A programme full of inspiration, creativity and exploration
The rich programme offered not only expert presentations and workshops focused on internationalisation, but also activities in the ROBOTA creative workshop, thematic excursions to individual faculties, a workshop on well-being and a discussion and sharing of good practice in the field of inclusion with representatives of the UTB Counselling Centre. Participants visited an exhibition dedicated to the Bata company in the 14|15 Bata Institute or a full-day excursion to UNESCO sites in the historic city of Kroměříž. “International Week is not only about exchanging experiences, but also about building relationships that can lead to concrete projects and collaborations across Europe,” said Prof. Marek Kubalčík, Vice-Rector for International Relations.
International Festival: Tastes and Colours of the World on the UTB Campus
As every year, the popular International Festival was part of International Week. It attracted more than 200 visitors to the area in front of the university library to experience the international atmosphere through cuisines and traditions from around the world. Organised by ESN students, the festival offered a space for representatives of different countries to present their culture, national dishes, traditional dress or customs. The visitors had the opportunity to taste national specialities prepared by long-term students from Ethiopia, Pakistan, Ukraine or Vietnam, as well as exchange students from Taiwan, South Korea, Belgium or Germany. Representatives of the House of Foreign Cooperation and the PIONEER Alliance of European Universities also presented their activities and opportunities for students. The International Festival aims to deepen intercultural dialogue and show the diversity of the student community in Zlín.
