Tomas Bata University in Zlín (TBU) has successfully wrapped up its 13th International Week, organised by the International Office team and Faculty members. Under the theme “Experience the World, Enjoy the Community,” the event brought together more than 20 staff members from partner universities to strengthen professional ties and share institutional know-how.
The week was held under the framework of the Erasmus+ programme, hosting colleagues from KA131 partner institutions, including members of the PIONEER Alliance, as well as partners from the KA171 project, specifically representing the Georgian National University SEU, which cooperates with the Faculty of Management and Economics.
Knowledge Sharing and Professional Discussion
The program was designed to introduce participants to current challenges in higher education and provide a space for open discussion. Key sessions focused on internationalisation and recruitment, as well as well-being in academia. Technological innovation was also a major topic, with presentations introducing the university’s approach to integrating Artificial Intelligence into the curriculum and showcasing current projects in the digitisation of education.
Experiencing Zlin´s Academic and Industrial Spirit
Beyond the meeting rooms, the program offered international guests a glimpse into the regional identity and scientific focus of TBU. The itinerary included a visit to the Zlín “Skyscraper” (Building No. 21), providing context to the Baťa legacy that shapes the city, and an excursion to the University Institute, where participants were introduced to the university’s activities in materials innovation and recycling. In cooperation with the student organisation ESN Zlin, the International Festival was held, allowing for informal networking between international staff and the local international student community.
Strengthening International Cooperation
The 13th International Week served as a valuable touchpoint for members of the PIONEER Alliance and other global partners. By bringing together representatives from more than seven countries such as Finland, Lithuania, France, the Netherlands, and Georgia, TBU continues to foster a practical environment for future mobility and collaborative projects.
