In the second-to-last week of October, the International Office at UTB hosted a Welcome Meeting specifically designed for first-year students entering degree programs taught in English. The main goal of the event was to help the newcomers settle into their studies, introduce them to the university and the city of Zlín, and give them the opportunity to make their first friendships.
We were delighted to welcome 26 students from all around the world who gathered to celebrate the start of their academic journey at UTB.
The program kicked off with a short presentation packed with useful information about studying at UTB, living in Zlín, and the support services available to students. The official part was followed by fun icebreaking activities and a quiz focusing on Czech culture, local customs, and practical tips for living in the Czech Republic. The top scorers in the quiz were rewarded with official UTB merch.
To wrap up the event, students had plenty of time for free conversation, chatting, and informal networking—both with each other and with our current student ambassadors.
We would like to thank all participating students for creating such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Welcome to the UTB family, and we wish you a successful and unforgettable student life in Zlín!
