Baťa skyscraper, also known as the building “21”, named after the building´s number. Back in 1938, it was the second tallest building in Europe.  It is 77.5 metres high and has sixteen floors. It was the administrative building of the shoemaking Bata Shoes factory. Now the headquarters of the Zlín Region reside there. The building was designed by Vladimír Karfík and built in constructivist style between 1936 and 1938 at the instruction of Jan Antonín Baťa. On the top floor of the “21st Administrative Building” you will find a terrace which is open all year round, offering a unique panoramic view of the town of Zlín. On the way up to the terrace, we recommend you to use an original lift office of the company director (must be booked in advance) or a paternoster lift.
