At the end of 2019, Tomas Bata University in Zlín was awarded by the “Study in – Award for the Internationalisation of Higher Education Institutions in 2019”. The project entitled “Bata Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam” was placed among the six best projects in the Czech Republic. The Bata Center was established in cooperation with Ton Duc Thang University in 2015 with the main objective to support and create conditions for Vietnamese applicants for study at Czech universities and to support scientific and research cooperation between Czech and Vietnamese research institutions, especially universities. The jury chaired by Mr Václav Velčovský, Deputy of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, appreciated especially the project’s innovativeness, breadth, depth and long-term in the context of the current position of internationalisation in the Czech Republic.
