Why did you choose the Czech Republic/Zlín?

I chose Czech Republic because it is one of the most student friendly countries with good level of education.

What do you like the most about Zlín?

The peace and quiet of the city.

What were your first thoughts when you arrived in Zlín?

I arrived at the end on autumn and the entire city was orange. My first thought was “Orange city Zlín”.

What was/is your biggest culture shock?

Didn’t really experience any so far.

How does your typical day look like?

My typical day starts at 6:30. I visit my department at 7:30 and work (either in lab or my office) till evening 17:30, followed by gym. I prefer to paint, read book or go out with my friends in the late evening.

Did you have a chance to try Czech food? If so, did you like it?

So far, from all the dishes that I have tried, my favourite is the Schnitzel with mashed potatoes.

Do you have any advice for anyone who wants to study abroad?

Never choose a place because of its popularity or because of some hype. Choose what fits you best. It could be the smallest city in the whole world like Zlin. Allow the place to show its colors and enjoy the process of everything.
